New Delhi: NTPC handed over Rs. 99.13 lakh to Peddapalli Dist Administration to fight against Coronavirus. Continuing its support for the national fight against coronavirus, NTPC-Ramagundam under its CSR-CD activities has handed over Rs. 99,12640.00 (Rupees ninety nine lakh twelve thousand six hundred forty only) to Peddapalli District Administration at Collectorate on April 11, 2020 for assistance towards providing PPE Kits, Sanitizer, 3 ply Masks and N95 Masks as a special case for use by those working under the COVID-19 programme.
Shri Rafiqul Islam, AGM (HR-CSR) presented the electronic clearance receipt of above amount to Dist. Collector Smt Sikta Patnaik, IAS. Speaking on the occasion, the collector has lauded NTPC’s quick response which will help to provide the PPE Kits, Sanitizer, 3 ply Masks and N95 Masks to fight against the epidemic coronavirus in the district. She also enquired about other initiatives being taken by NTPC for its employees, contract workers and nearby people.
Shri Rafiqul Islam briefed the collector about the steps taken by NTPC for example essential grocery items distributed among 4500 migrant workers, conducting special health camps in labour colonies, sanitization of plant and township premises, following social distancing, streamlining manpower deployment as per guidelines; preparedness on quarantine facilities to meet any future emergency, creating awareness on coronavirus through different mediums and many more.
