NTPC pays total dividend of Rs 4,741.16 crore
NEW DELHI. NTPC Ltd paid a total dividend of Rs 4,741.16 crore - 57.5% of its paid-up capital- for the financial year 2012-13.
The shareholders of the company approved a final dividend of 20%, including a special dividend of 12.5%, amounting to Rs 1649.09 crore at the 37th Annual General Meeting of the company.
A cheque of Rs 1236.82 crore to government of India was presented by Arup Roy Choudhury, CMD, NTPC to Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister of State for Power (Independent Charge), in the presence of P K Sinha, Secretary (Power) and other senior officials from ministry of power and NTPC.
The company had earlier paid an interim dividend of Rs 2319.04 crore to government of India in March 2013. Thus, NTPC Ltd has made a total dividend payment of Rs 3555.86 crore to the government for the financial year 2012-13.
