NTPC set to sign MoU with government for medical college

SUNDARGARH. NTPC Limited is likely to sign an MoU with State Government shortly to set up the proposed medical college and hospital (MCH) at Sundargarh town.
In spite of the health administration’s plan to kick-start the academic session from 2016-17, the problem over land acquisition may delay the project.
A senior NTPC official said the power major does not have technical expertise to run the MCH and therefore it was finally agreed that NTPC would bear all costs to set up building infrastructure and equipment. He said after the MoU is signed, a global tender would be floated. New Indian Express

SAIL plans Rs 5,000-cr auto steel mill at Rourkela plant
NEW DELHI . Steel Authority of India (SAIL) plans to set up a 1.2 mtpa cold-rolling mill at its Rourkela Steel Plant, which may entail an investment of around Rs 5,000 crore, through a joint venture.
The state-run company, which is ramping up its steel-making capacity to 24 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) from 14 mtpa now, has already floated a global tender inviting interests from potential partners.
The proposal is to install a 1.2 mtpa cold-rolling mill complex at RSP though the venture to cater to the auto sector, a source said. The "strategic" partner should have experience and expertise in the field, he added. Zee News
