NTPC Simhadri, felicitated by District Collector, Visakhapatnam in Go Green, Breath Clean program

Visakhapatnam: NTPC Simhadri, a Super Thermal Power Plant felicitated by the District Collector, Visakhapatnam in Go Green, Breath Clean program organised by Andhra Pradesh Forest Department at Visakhapatnam .

The award is felicitated on the occasion of World Environmental Day, for the contribution of NTPC Simhadri in greening of environment and especially for the contribution being made in the areas of Sustainable Development namely, hatching of Olive Ridley Turtles and Community Based Eco Tourism project at Ananthgiri.

The power plant is one of the coal-fired power plants of NTPC, a Government of India enterprise. The coal for the power plant is sourced from the Kalinga Block of Talcher Coal fields in Odisha.

NTPC Simhadri is a modern coal-fired power plant, and is a combination of four independent generation units, with common water and fuel sources, and common ash ponds.
