New Delhi: Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited a subsidiary of NTPC Ltd adopts two Asiatic Lions from Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park

4th October is celebrated as World Animal Day to raise awareness about improving the welfare standards of animals across the globe. To conserve wildlife, PVUN Ltd has signed an MOU with Jharkhand Zoo Authority for adopting two Asiatic Lions at the Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park for one year.

The zoo is one of the major tourist attractions of Jharkhand. It is home to about 1450 wild animals representing 83 different species of mammals, reptiles, and birds. 

The MOU is signed between NTPC and Jharkhand Zoo Authority by Shri Rajesh Dungdung, DGM(R&R), NTPC, and Shri Jabbar Singh, Member Secretary (Jharkhand Zoo Authority) for adopting a male and a female lion couple. As per the adoption policy, PVUN shall bear the expenditure for their feed over the year.
