NTPCs Barh power project to start trial run this month

 
PATNA: The NTPC is set to start power generation from unit-1 of stage 2 of its super thermal power plant at Barh in Patna district within a couple of days. However, commercial generation from this 660MW unit is expected by December end.
 
 
 
"We have to fulfil certain parameters before launching commercial production as per the Central Electricity Act (CEA) guidelines," said a senior NTPC official.
 
 
 
CM Nitish Kumar, along with Bihar energy minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, on Wednesday reviewed the progress made by the Barh power project on the spot. During their more than one- hour visit of the project, the CM and other dignitaries inspected the construction activities and also visited control room and turbine generator hall.
