ONGC Limited to pay Environmental Compensation to Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board
ONGC faces environmental compensation notices from the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board for alleged violations at its Odalarevu, Tatipaka, and Kesanapalli facilities. The notices pertain to non-compliance with effluent discharge standards.

New Delhi, July 31, 2025: State-owned ONGC Ltd has announced that a Notice has been issued for the payment of Environmental compensation from Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board Regional Office: Kakinada for three of its facilities at Odalarevu (Onshore Terminal), Tatipaka Gas Collecting Station and Kesanapalli Group Gathering Station.
The Company shall review the order and file an appeal against the said order to the appropriate appellate authority.

The Environmental Compensation has been imposed on following locations:
1. Odalarevu (Onshore Terminal)
2. Tatipaka Gas Collecting Station (GCS)
3. Kesanapalli Group Gathering Station (GGS)
In terms of cited violations, the company has informed that Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) outlet values of the above-mentioned facilities of the Company allegedly did not comply with discharge standards.
Therefore, Environmental Compensation on each facilities were levied separately as per following details:
1. Odalarevu (Onshore Terminal): Rs 36,60,000 (Thirty Six Lakh and Sixty Thousand) for violations for the period from 01.08.2024 to 30.11.2024 (122 days);
2. Tatipaka GCS and Mini Refinery: Rs 27,60,000 (Twenty-Seven Lakh and Sixty Thousand) for violations for the period from 01.06.2024 to 31.08.2024 (92 days); and
3. Kesanapalli GGS: Rs 36,60,000 (Thirty Six Lakh and Sixty Thousand) for violations for the period from 01.06.2024 to 30.09.2024 (122 days).
