REC Incorporates New Wholly-Owned Subsidiary for 400 kV Munak Transmission Project
New Delhi: REC Limited, a Maharatna public sector enterprise, has announced the incorporation of a new subsidiary company Munak Power Transmission Limited as part of its power infrastructure development initiatives.
The new entity has been incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), which itself is a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Limited. Consequently, Munak Power Transmission Limited also becomes a subsidiary of REC Limited under Section 2(87) of the Companies Act, 2013.
Purpose of Incorporation
Munak Power Transmission Limited has been created for the development of a 400 kV substation at Munak in Haryana and associated transmission lines to facilitate evacuation of 800 MW of power from the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant (DCRTPP), Yamunanagar.
The project was allocated by Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL) on October 1, 2025, appointing RECPDCL as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework. After the selection of the successful bidder, the newly incorporated company will be transferred along with its assets and liabilities as per regulatory norms.
