RVNL team achieved a milestone on Daund-Gulbarga doubling project
New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) team achieved a milestone of doubling of 26.33 km Washimbe Bhalwani section of the Daund-Gulbarga doubling project. A great capacity addition project to the Golden Quadrilateral route.
Doubling work in Washimbe Bhalwani section (26.33 km) of the Daund-Gulbarga doubling project has been inspected by Shri Manoj Arora Commissioner of Railway Safety Central Circle, Mumbai on 26.10.2021 & 27.10.2021.
The project work included the construction of 65 bridges, three new station buildings at Jeur, Pophlaj, and Washimbe stations, and a new Electronic interlocking at 4 stations. With commissioning, a major bottleneck at Pophlaj station where trains were being reversed for crossing on this single line stretch on golden quadrilateral is being eliminated.
This completes 196.43kms of doubling out of 224.91. The section is now operational for train services.
