Safety Audits: Committee visited NTPC Farakka

The Audit Committee lauded the efforts of NTPC Farakka in following safety practices and protocols

New Delhi: The Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Safety Audit Committee visited NTPC Farakka on the 24th and 25th of November 2021. Shri Sanjiv Kumar, GGM Farakka welcomed the Audit Committee at Farakka Super Thermal Power Station.

The Safety Audit Committee was constituted as per Hon’ble Green Tribunal (NGT) order dated 22.12.2020 to undertake Safety Audits of similarly placed thermal power stations throughout the country. The nine members committee was headed by Shri K.B Jagtap, Director & Member Convener of Committee (TE&TD), CEA, and composed of members from CEA, Ministry of Coal, Central Boiler Board (CBB), etc.

 

The team conducted the safety audit of various areas and installations of the plant, including Control Rooms, Coal Handling Plant, Service Building, SwitchYard, Fire Station, First Aid Centre and MGR Workshop. The committee also visited the Safety Park and acknowledged the good work of employees and contract workers.
