New Delhi, February 19, 2026: The Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, has announced that Shri Harsimran Singh, IRSE (Civil) 2001, currently serving as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at Hindustan Copper Limited, Kolkata, has been entrusted with the additional charge of CVO at the Geological Survey of India (GSI), Kolkata.

The appointment is effective for three months from the date of assumption or until a regular CVO is appointed at GSI, whichever comes first. The move follows the Ministry of Mines’ recommendation and has been approved by the competent authority.

This arrangement ensures continued vigilance oversight and administrative integrity at GSI, reinforcing the government’s commitment to transparent and accountable governance in key scientific and public sector institutions.
