Tenure Extended for Chief Vigilance Officer at FACT
Government of India extends tenure of the Chief Vigilance Officer at FACT for two years beyond February 12, 2026, ensuring continuity in vigilance administration.

New Delhi, January 2, 2026: The Government of India has approved the extension of tenure of Ms. Soorya Thankappan, IPS (OD:2001) as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Fertilizers & Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT), Kochi for a further period of two years beyond 12 February 2026.
The decision was conveyed through an Office Memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions on January 1, 2026, following a proposal from the Department of Fertilizers.
As per the order, Ms. Thankappan’s extension will remain effective until February 12, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Ms. Soorya Thankappan, an Indian Police Service officer of the 2001 Odisha cadre, has been serving as CVO at FACT, a major public sector enterprise in the fertilizer and chemicals sector, and will continue to oversee the organisation’s vigilance framework and governance systems during the extended term.
The extension reflects the government’s continued confidence in her leadership and administrative capabilities in strengthening transparency and institutional integrity at FACT.
