Union Power Minister lays Foundation Stone of NTPC`s 2640 MW Bundelkhand Super Thermal Power Project

Chattarpur . NTPC will construct a 2,640 MW power plant in Barethi in Chattarpur district of Madhya Pradesh at a cost of about Rs 18,000 crore. The foundation stone for the Super Thermal Power Project, which is located in the Bundelkhand region, was laid by Power Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia today, an official statement said here. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the Barethi power project is an important milestone for the state as well as the entire country. The power project will help to make Bundelkhand one of the most prosperous regions of the State, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Power, Shri P.K.Sinha said Bundelkhand Project shall become one of the largest projects of NTPC in the region in coming years. Appreciating NTPC's efforts he said the company is known for its environment friendly initiatives and CSR where ever it sets up projects and shall continue doing so in Bundelkhand.
In his address Dr Arup Roy Choudhury, CMD, said NTPC is privileged to have got this opportunity to contribute towards progress of Bundelkhand region by setting up the power station.
