PowerGrid shares take uplift as PSU receives Power Project Contract
State-owned Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has announced that it has received a transmission project in Sonbhadra District, UP.

New Delhi, 5 September 2025: State-owned Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has announced that it has received a transmission project in Sonbhadra District, UP.
The exchange filing stated that Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has been declared as the successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding to establish the Inter-State Transmission System for the project, namely “Transmission system for evacuation of power from Pumped Storage Projects in Sonbhadra District, Uttar Pradesh,” on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis.

The Letter of Intent (LoI) has been received by the company on 04th September, 2025. The project comprises the establishment of a new 765/400 kV pooling substation & bay extension works at other upcoming substations and 765 kV transmission line works in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Shares of Power Grid are trading higher by 1.21% at Rs 285.20 at BSE. The stock has been corrected over by 7.87% in the past six months.
