New Delhi: Following the state-owned telecom and broadband services provider announced a 46.3% year-over-year increase in net profit to Rs 113.4 crore for the March quarter of fiscal 2024–25, shares of RailTel Corporation of India surged as much as 12.5% on Friday to Rs 333.30 on the BSE. In Q4FY25, RailTel's operating revenue increased 57% to Rs 1,308.28 crore from Rs 832.7 crore in the same period last year.
EBITDA, or earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation, rose 54% year over year to Rs 179.63 crore for the quarter. However, margins decreased slightly from 14% to 13.7% from the previous year. This is because project costs increased by 86% compared to the same quarter last year.

Meanwhile, the telecom services revenue increased by 7% from the previous year to Rs 358.75 crore and the revenue for the Project Work Services vertical nearly doubled to Rs 949.53 crore from the previous quarter. As of the end of the March quarter, the government still owned 72% of RailTel.

The stock's performance has significantly improved, as evidenced by its 12.58% gain on May 2, 2025. Following two days in a row of decline, this increase suggests a possible trend reversal. The stock had a noteworthy 4.37% gain at opening and a 9.32% increase at its peak, reaching an intraday high of Rs 326.8. The market capitalization of the company is at Rs 10.70K crore.
Railtel Price Target: Trendlyne.com indicates a target of Rs 270 for RailTel by May 1, 2025.
