IRCTC Invites Applications for Group General Manager (E8) in East Zone, Kolkata

New Delhi, February 24, 2026: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC), a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has announced a vacancy for the post of Group General Manager (E8) in its East Zone, Kolkata, on a deputation basis.

Key Details of the Vacancy

• Position: Group General Manager (E8) – East Zone

• Number of Posts: 1

• Location: Kolkata, West Bengal

• Tenure: Three years or till IRCTC is exempted from the rule of immediate absorption, whichever is earlier

• Eligibility: Officers from Group ‘A’ Services of Indian Railways, excluding IRPFS/IRHS

• Age Limit: Below 58 years as of the closing date of the vacancy notice

• Pay Scale: Parent pay plus deputation allowance, other perks and allowances as per IRCTC policy (Level-14, 7th CPC)

• Qualification: Graduate in any discipline

• Desirable Experience:

  • Exposure to IT systems

  • Experience in the Commercial Department of Indian Railways

  • Relevant administrative and business experience

Job Profile

The Group General Manager (East Zone) will be responsible for:

• Overseeing all administrative and business operations of the East Zone

• Ensuring implementation of corporate policies and procedures issued by IRCTC headquarters

• Liaising with Railways and Non-Railway authorities for smooth functioning of the Zone
