POWERGRID Narela Transmission Project Commissioned Successfully: 8.1 GW Solar Power Integration in Rajasthan
New Delhi, Feb 24, 2026: Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. announced the successful commissioning of the POWERGRID Narela Transmission Limited project, a wholly owned subsidiary, on 7th December 2025, with the commercial operation notified on 24th February 2026.
The project, part of the “Transmission System Strengthening Scheme for evaluation of power from Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II Part-G”, was secured through Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB). It aims to integrate 8.1 GW of solar energy into India’s national grid, reinforcing the country’s renewable energy infrastructure.
