DVC Rewards Excellence at 79th Foundation Day; Koderma TPS Wins Top Honour
Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) recognised its best-performing power stations, employees and project teams during its 79th Foundation Day celebrations, honouring outstanding achievements for FY 2025-26 across generation, grid operations, safety, CSR and innovation.
Among the major honours, Koderma Thermal Power Station (Koderma TPS) received the Best Generating Station Award, while Durgapur Steel Thermal Power Station (DSTPS) was named the runner-up. Koderma TPS also won the Green Plant of the Year Award, highlighting its strong environmental performance.
In grid operations, GOMD-VII (Ramgarh Substation) won the Best Grid Operations & Maintenance Division Award, with GOMD-III (Jamshedpur Substation) finishing as runner-up.
The Best CSR Project Award went to Durgapur Steel TPS, while Mejia TPS secured the runner-up position. DVC also recognised the Mining Team at its captive coal mines in Tubed, Latehar for its outstanding achievement.
For workplace safety, Durgapur Steel TPS received the Safety Excellence Award (Thermal), while GOMD-I (Howrah) won the Safety Excellence Award in the Grid Operations and Maintenance category.
At the individual level, Debprasad Khan, Senior Manager at Bokaro TPS, was honoured as the Employee of the Year (Executive). Aparna Kundu, Assistant Grade-II in the Finance Department at DVC Headquarters, received the Employee of the Year (Non-Executive) award.
The Ideacon Award for innovation was presented to the Chandrapura TPS team for its project on improving the Dry Fly Ash Evacuation System to enhance fly ash utilisation. The first runner-up award went to the Secretariat, Headquarters team for developing a Geo-Spatial Digital Surveillance Framework for ash pond risk assessment. The second runner-up award was won by the Commercial & Materials (C&M) Headquarters team for its project on AI-driven inventory optimisation, intelligent procurement and data governance.
DVC congratulated all the winners and appreciated their contributions towards operational excellence, innovation, sustainability and organisational growth.
