NTPC Farakka received the Gold Award in Sustainable Development at the 2025 Green Enviro Awards for outstanding environmental practices including 100 percent ash use and wildlife conservation.

NTPC Farakka honoured for green initiatives at Green Enviro Awards in Lonavala
NTPC Farakka has been honoured with the prestigious Gold Award in the Sustainable Development category at the Green Enviro Environment Awards 2025, presented by the Green Enviro Foundation.
The accolade was conferred at a ceremony in Lonavala, Maharashtra, on 19th June 2025, graced by former Union Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu and the “Bamboo Man of India,” Shri Pasha Patel.

NTPC Farakka’s sustainability practices include over 100% ash utilisation in FY 2024-25, a zero-liquid-discharge system, and extensive monsoon rainwater harvesting through 17 recharge pits besides several channels and water bodies.
Also, it supports biodiversity by partnering with ICAR-CIFRI on Ganga fish ranching and adopting over 100 spotted deer, 40 budgerigars, and other wildlife at Adina Park, while continuous tree-planting enriches the green belt.
