ONGC Officer Abhijit Bhattacharya Honoured with IOC Global Winner Award
New Delhi, July 10, 2026: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has congratulated its employee Abhijit Bhattacharya after he received the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Global Winner Award. The honour was presented by IOC President Kirsty Coventry during the International Working Group on Women and Sport (IWG) Global Summit in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
The award recognises Bhattacharya's outstanding contribution to promoting gender equality, diversity and community development through grassroots sports.
Recognition for Brahmaputra Volleyball League
Abhijit Bhattacharya received the prestigious international honour for his work through the Brahmaputra Volleyball League (BVL), an initiative that has helped expand volleyball at the grassroots level across Assam.
The league has encouraged greater participation from women, young athletes and local communities while promoting inclusion, equal opportunities and social development through sport.

The International Olympic Committee recognised Bhattacharya's efforts in demonstrating how community-based sports programmes can create lasting social impact.
