Shimla:29.09.2025 SJVN has been awarded Second prize in prestigious Swachhta Pakhwada Awards 2025 by Ministry of Power, Government of India. The award was presented by Sh. Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India to Sh. Bhupender Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, SJVN at New Delhi today.
On this occasion, Sh. Bhupender Gupta stated that the Award has been conferred to SJVN for its outstanding performance during nationwide program ‘Swachhta Pakhwada 2025’. The structured Action Plans and Impactful Initiatives undertaken by the company across its Projects and Units during the Pakhwada have created positive and lasting change in society.

Awardees are evaluated on multiple parameters, including awareness generation and sustainable cleanliness initiatives. This year, after rigorous evaluation by Ministry of Power, SJVN secured the Second prize, with PGCIL and NHPC bagging First and Third prizes respectively.

During Swachhta Pakhwada 2025, SJVN with active community participation, organized wide range of cleanliness & sustainability activities. These included extensive cleanliness drives, plantation drive, menstrual hygiene awareness sessions, promotion of sustainable practices, awareness programs discouraging single-use plastic, awareness session on hygiene and waste management, river cleaning activities, expert talks, rallies, Nukkad nataks, competitions in schools etc.
SJVN's continued success in the Swachhta Pakhwada Awards underscores its dedication to creating more sustainable future for the nation.
