WCL Honoured with Ten Awards on Coal India Foundation Day
The Foundation Day ceremony, held on November 1, 2025, at Kolkata, witnessed WCL being recognized for its remarkable achievements.
New Delhi, October 03, 2025: Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), on the occasion of the 51st Foundation Day of Coal India Limited (CIL), was conferred with a total of ten prestigious awards — four Corporate Awards and six Individual Excellence Awards — in recognition of its outstanding performance and contribution across various domains.
The Foundation Day ceremony, held on November 1, 2025, at Kolkata, witnessed WCL being recognized for its remarkable achievements. The company received the First Prize for Land Acquisition & Rehabilitation, Second Prize for Environment Management, Second Prize for CSR Excellence, and the Third Prize for Star Rating – Best Performing Subsidiary.

Dwivedi, Director Technical (Operations/Projects & Planning) Shri Anandji Prasad, Director (Human Resources) Dr. Hemant Sharad Pandey, along with the General Managers and officials of the respective departments. Shri Dwivedi attributed the success to the dedication and teamwork of all employees of WCL and extended his heartfelt congratulations to the entire team

The recipients included Shri Ilyas Husain, General Manager, Ballarpur Area, who was awarded as the Best Area General Manager; Shri Rakesh Prasad, General Manager (Projects & Planning), WCL Headquarters, who received the Best Head of Department Award; and Shri Sabyasachi Dey, General Manager, Wani Area, who was honored with the Individual Excellence Award.
Shri Rajkumar, Mechanical Fitter from Pathakhera area was recognized as the Outstanding Sportsperson, Smt. Manjusha Dhote, Crane Operator from Ballarpur, received the Best Female Employee Award (Non-HEMM Category); and Shri A. Anil Kumar, Senior Manager (Civil), Headquarters, was honored with the Vigilance Excellence Award.
