Shri E. Satya Kumar Phani assumes additional charge as Regional Executive Director (West-I), NTPC

Mumbai, 03rd November 2025: Shri E. Satya Kumar Phani has taken over the additional charge of Regional Executive Director (West-I), NTPC in addition to his current roles as Executive Director (DRC) and Chief Executive Officer (UPL).

A seasoned power sector professional, Shri Phani brings with him over three and a half decades of rich experience in diverse domains of power generation and project management. An alumnus of Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (1988) and an MBA in Human Resource Management (2007) from IGNOU, New Delhi.

Shri Phani joined NTPC on 28th February 1989 as an Executive Trainee and has since played key roles in several major NTPC projects and establishments, contributing significantly to the organization’s operational excellence and capacity expansion. His professional journey includes noteworthy tenures at Corporate Centre – EOC, Ramagundam, Lara, and as Head of Project, Vindhyachal. He has also led NTPC West-II Region as Regional Executive Director, and served as Head of Project, UPL, where his strategic leadership and focus on performance improvement were widely recognized.

Under his leadership, NTPC projects have achieved new benchmarks in efficiency, sustainability, and employee engagement. His visionary approach and people-centric management style have been instrumental in fostering innovation and driving organizational growth across multiple functions.

The Western Region-I Headquarters, Mumbai, extends a warm welcome to Shri E. Satya Kumar Phani on assuming this additional responsibility. With his vast experience and proven leadership, the region looks forward to scaling greater heights in operational excellence, safety, and stakeholder engagement.
