NEW DELHI: The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has officially recommended Shri Brajesh Kumar Singh for the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of Canara Bank.
The recommendation followed an intensive selection process where the Bureau interfaced with 17 shortlisted candidates from various public sector banks. The panel evaluated candidates based on their professional experience, performance during the interface, and strategic leadership capabilities.

Next Steps and Final Approval
The recommendation will now be sent to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval. Once cleared, Shri Singh is expected to take charge of Canara Bank effective from January 1, 2026. His primary focus will be overseeing the bank’s continued digital transformation and maintaining its robust asset quality in a competitive lending market.
