Mumbai, 28th January 2026: Public sector lender Union Bank of India has announced a key leadership change, appointing CA Dhirendra Jain as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective 1st February 2026. He succeeds CA Avinash Vasant Prabhu, who has resigned from the position for personal reasons and will be relieved on 31st January 2026.
The appointment was approved by the Bank’s Board in a meeting held on January 28, 2026. CA Dhirendra Jain, aged 51, is a Chartered Accountant and a seasoned finance professional with over 28 years of experience. He currently serves as the General Manager – Finance and Accounts at the Bank and possesses rich banking experience in credit (large corporate), having served as both a Regional Head and Zonal Head. He also holds a Post Graduate degree in Commerce and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
This change in the CFO role is a significant executive movement for the bank as it continues to navigate the evolving financial landscape.
