New Delhi, 17 March 2026: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a key subsidiary of Coal India Limited, achieved a historic milestone by recording its highest-ever single-day coal despatch of 6.59 lakh tonnes in FY 2025–26.

The record was achieved through seamless coordination across all transport channels: rail contributed 3.88 lakh tonnes, road 2.41 lakh tonnes, and MGR 0.30 lakh tonnes, reflecting precise planning and efficient execution.
