Alok Ranjan (IPS) to join as Director at National Crime Records Bureau
Shri Alok Ranjan, an IPS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre of the 1991 batch, has been appointed as Director at the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) with immediate effect.
New Delhi, 29 August 2025:Shri Alok Ranjan, an IPS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre of the 1991 batch, has been appointed as Director at the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) with immediate effect.
The appointment committee of the cabinet has made the selection. As a civil servant, Ranjan has also held the post of Special DG Management in Madhya Pradesh Police. As an NCRB director, he will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring the release and compilation of crime data throughout the year.
The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) is an Indian government agency that collects and analyzes the crime data, as defined by the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Special and Local Laws (SLL).
NCRB is headquartered in New Delhi and is part of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
