New Delhi: In a significant boost to sustainable urban development, Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) has extended financial assistance of ₹2.37 crore to the Government of Himachal Pradesh under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The support will be utilised for strengthening Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) across the state through the procurement of waste shredders and electric garbage collection vehicles, enhancing the efficiency of solid waste management systems and promoting clean urban mobility.
The CSR cheque was formally presented to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Hon’ble Minister for Public Works Shri Vikramaditya Singh, marking a collaborative effort between the public sector enterprise and the state government towards building sustainable urban ecosystems.
This initiative is expected to significantly improve waste handling infrastructure while reducing carbon emissions through the adoption of electric vehicles, reinforcing Himachal Pradesh’s commitment to environmentally responsible governance and urban cleanliness.
HUDCO’s contribution aligns with national objectives of promoting Swachh Bharat, clean energy adoption, and resilient urban development.
