GAIL India Invites Retired Jharkhand Officials for Competent Authority Walk-In Interview

Ranchi, Jharkhand, March 17, 2026 – GAIL (India) Limited, a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking and India’s flagship natural gas company, has announced a walk-in interview for the position of Competent Authority (Temporary Tenure) for its pipeline network in Jharkhand.

The position is open to retired officers of SDM rank and above from the Jharkhand Administrative Services who retired between April 1, 2022, and August 31, 2025, with a minimum of three years’ experience in land acquisition. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in linear projects under the P&MP Act, 1962 for Right of Use (RoU) in Jharkhand.

Terms of Engagement:

• The tenure is purely temporary for 18 months.

• Consolidated remuneration will be fixed, deducting the basic pension from the last drawn pay at retirement.

• Daily Allowance of ₹1,200/day for travel beyond the place of posting, with a maximum of 25 days per month.

• One day paid leave per month and weekly holidays as observed by GAIL.

• Engagement can be terminated with one month’s notice by either party.
