NTPC Korba CSR Organises “Green India Clean India – Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Programme at Charpara Kohdiya

NTPC Korba, under its CSR initiatives, organised a cleanliness awareness rally, tree plantation, and creative competitions at Charpara Kohdiya schools, inspiring students and the local community towards environmental care.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, NTPC Korba organised the “Green India Clean India – Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” programme today at Atmanand Middle School and High School, Charpara Kohdiya. The event aimed to promote cleanliness, proper plastic waste disposal, and environmental conservation among school children and the local community.

The programme began with a rally involving students from both schools, spreading awareness about cleanliness and the responsible disposal of plastic waste. Following the rally, saplings were planted in the school premises under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative, symbolising love and respect for nature.

To encourage creative expression, a drawing and painting competition on the themes of cleanliness and environmental conservation was held. Students with outstanding artwork were recognised and awarded for their efforts.

The event was graced by the presence of Shri Narendra Devangan, Councillor of Charpara Kohdiya; Smt. Priyanka Kumari and Shri R.C. Ben from NTPC; Shri Kaushik from Swachhta Pukare Foundation; the school principals, teachers, and enthusiastic students.

Speaking on the occasion, Councillor Shri Narendra Devangan emphasised the importance of cleanliness, stating, “Cleanliness is a crucial aspect of our lives that ensures a healthy and hygienic environment. Every individual must take responsibility for maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings.”

Smt. Priyanka Kumari from NTPC Korba added, “A clean environment is the foundation of a healthy society. Whether at home, workplace, or in the community, cleanliness not only promotes physical health but also enhances mental and emotional well-being, while preventing various diseases.”
