In a significant step under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, NTPC Unchahar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Lucknow, to provide vocational training in Machine Operator – Plastics Processing to 40 selected youth from 15 nearby village panchayats. This initiative aims to enhance employability and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural youth.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Shri Abhay Kumar Srivastava, Executive Director & Head of Project, NTPC Unchahar, by Mrs. Ruma De Sharma, Head of Human Resources, NTPC Unchahar, and Shri Puneet Bhargava, Senior Administrative Officer, CIPET Lucknow

He stated that this partnership with CIPET will not only provide technical expertise but will also pave the way for shaping bright careers for the participants.
Marking the commencement of the training program, Shri Srivastava flagged off the bus carrying the selected youth to CIPET Lucknow for the residential training.

Haridas, General Manager (Maintenance); Mrs. Ranjita, Senior Member, PDLC; Shri Rajesh Srivastava (SDM, Unchahar); Union and Association representatives; senior officials; and senior members of the PDLC committee.
The four-month residential training program, jointly conducted by NTPC and CIPET, will equip the youth with specialized technical skills and connect them with diverse employment opportunities upon completion. The selected candidates and their families expressed their gratitude to NTPC and CIPET for this transformative opportunity.
