REC Limited has launched a new women empowerment initiative aimed at supporting sustainable livelihoods and promoting financial independence among women in Bangaon, West Bengal.

Under the programme, 600 foot-operated sewing machines will be distributed to women beneficiaries, enabling them to pursue self-employment opportunities and build sustainable sources of income.

The initiative is designed to strengthen economic independence, encourage entrepreneurship, and improve the overall quality of life for women by equipping them with tools for livelihood generation.

According to REC Limited, the programme reflects the company's continued commitment to women's empowerment, inclusive growth, and socio-economic development through impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) interventions.

By supporting skill-based livelihood opportunities, the initiative aims to create long-term economic benefits for women and their families while fostering greater participation of women in local economic activities.
