IIM Jammu Inaugurates Three-Day Training Program on Contract Management and Arbitration for NHPC

Jammu, 22nd Dec 2025: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu inaugurated the three-day Executive Education Program on Contract Management and Arbitration for NHPC, a Government of India Navaratna Public Sector Enterprise, with a formal inaugural ceremony at the campus at Vedanta MDP block on 22nd Dec 2025. The training program consisted of 20 participants from different parts of the country.
Dr. Parvathy B., Program Director, IIM Jammu, in her inaugural address, acknowledged the challenges faced by participants due to flight delays and appreciated their commitment to learning. Beginning with an insightful practical example, she highlighted the management perspective in contract management and arbitration, emphasizing how structured managerial thinking can help address complex contractual and dispute-resolution challenges. She also expressed her gratitude to the Executive Education and Consultancy (EE & C), IIM Jammu team for their support in conceptualizing and delivering the program.
Dr. Naveen Goyal, Program Director, IIM Jammu, appreciated the meticulous efforts of Dr. Parvathy B., Program Director, IIM Jammu in designing the program based on participants' professional profiles and for bringing in experienced practitioners to enrich learning. He also acknowledged the presence of senior NHPC officials, noting that their value-based expertise would significantly enhance peer learning. He encouraged participants to actively engage, learn meaningfully, and cherish the professional bonds formed during the program.
Shri Pardeep Saini, Program Officer, Business Development, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu, highlighted that the program has been specially curated for contract management and arbitration, providing an overview of the three-day structure and its key learning outcomes. He also briefed participants on the diverse Executive Education and Consultancy programs offered by IIM Jammu across various domains and mentioned the completion of seven consultancy projects, underscoring the Institute's self-sustaining and revenue-generating model. He emphasized that the participants would continue to remain valued members of the IIM Jammu family even after the completion of the training program.
The program commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by a welcome address by Mohd. Arif, Executive, EE & C, IIM Jammu. During the session, participants introduced themselves and shared their expectations for the training program, also reflecting on the travel difficulties faced due to flight cancellations, while expressing enthusiasm for the learning journey ahead.
The inaugural ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, marking a formal and inspiring beginning to the program. The program is being coordinated and executed by Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu.
