PM Modi Lays Foundation for ₹5,514 Cr Polypropylene Plant at BPCL Kochi Refinery
Kochi, March 11, 2026: Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for a ₹5,514 crore Polypropylene Plant at the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) Kochi Refinery, marking a major milestone in India’s petrochemical growth. The event also included the inauguration of several development projects across the Railways, Highways, and Ministry of Rural Development.
Landmark Petrochemical Project
Welcoming the Prime Minister, Shri Suresh Gopi, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of Tourism, highlighted the importance of this initiative for Kochi’s industrial modernization. He emphasized that the project would strengthen the region’s industrial base and create significant employment opportunities.
