CDCFIB Approves Promotion of 24,202 Paramilitary Officers Across Four Agencies
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has promoted 24,202 senior officers in four Nigerian paramilitary agencies under the 2024/2025 cycle, boosting morale and strengthening internal security operations.

Abuja: The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has approved the promotion of 24,202 senior officers across four key paramilitary agencies in Nigeria. The approval followed a board meeting held in early December 2025 and chaired by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
According to the board, the promotions form part of the 2024/2025 promotion cycle and represent the second batch of senior-level advancements for the year 2025. The exercise was conducted based on defined criteria, including performance in the latest promotion examinations, professional records, national representation, and the availability of vacancies.
The four paramilitary agencies under the CDCFIB that benefited from the promotions are the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The Interior Ministry stated that the promotion exercise is aimed at boosting morale, enhancing professionalism, and improving service delivery across Nigeria’s paramilitary institutions. The board noted that advancing officers who have demonstrated merit and commitment aligns with ongoing reforms within the security sector.
The newly promoted officers are expected to assume their new responsibilities immediately and are encouraged to uphold higher standards of discipline, integrity, and service to the nation.
