India–Russia Annual Summit Reinforces Strategic Partnership; Economic Cooperation Programme Finalised Till 2030

New Delhi— The 23rd India–Russia Annual Summit provided an important opportunity for both nations to review the full scope of their bilateral partnership and chart new pathways for future collaboration. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin held extensive discussions covering economic, cultural, and global strategic issues.

During the Summit, both leaders finalised the India–Russia Economic Cooperation Programme till 2030, designed to diversify and deepen bilateral trade and investment. The programme outlines enhanced collaboration in connectivity, shipbuilding, skills development, energy, critical minerals, and other emerging sectors.

Prime Minister Modi highlighted the significance of people-to-people linkages as a cornerstone of the India–Russia relationship. Recent developments such as the opening of two new Indian Consulates in Russia and the visit of sacred Buddhist relics to Russia were noted as important cultural milestones. Both sides expressed interest in expanding cooperation in education, training, and skill development.

Global and regional issues also featured prominently in the dialogue. The Prime Minister reiterated India’s strong commitment to peace and emphasised the importance of finding a peaceful and enduring solution to the conflict in Ukraine. Both leaders underscored the need for continued joint efforts to combat terrorism and agreed to maintain close coordination in various international and multilateral forums.

The Summit reaffirmed the enduring strength of the India–Russia strategic partnership and charted a forward-looking agenda to guide cooperation in the coming decade
