Railways offer 9,000 Jobs in Q1 and Plans 50,000 vacancies for FY 2025-26
Since November 2024, the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have conducted Computer-based Tests for more than 1.86 crore candidates for seven different notifications which comprise 55,197 vacancies.

New Delhi: Indian Railways is progressing steadily with around 1.08 Lakh Vacancies Announced Since 2024 and 50,000 Appointments in FY 2026-27. Since November 2024, the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have conducted Computer-based Tests for more than 1.86 crore candidates for seven different notifications which comprise 55,197 vacancies.
This would make RRBs to offer appointments to more than 50,000 candidates in FY 2025-26, and more than 9000 appointments have already been issued in the first quarter of the current financial year.

In an encouraging move, the Railway Board has taken a major initiative to allot exam centres closer to candidates places of residence, with special preference given to female and PwBD candidates. This requires enlisting more exam centres and garnering more human resources to conduct the exam in a fair and transparent manner.
Since 2024 around twelve notifications have already been issued for 108324 vacancies in the annual calendar published by RRBs, and more than 50,000 appointments will be on offer in the next FY2026-27.

Now, Jammers are also being deployed 100 % across all exam centers of RRBs to eliminate scope of cheating through electronic devices.
