REC Limited Invites Applications from IAS Officers for Executive Director Post on Deputation Basis
REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has invited applications from eligible IAS officers for the post of Executive Director (ED) on a deputation basis.

Gurugram, 09 July 2025 – REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has invited applications from eligible IAS officers for the post of Executive Director (ED) on a deputation basis.
REC is the nodal agency for the implementation of several power sector programmes of the Government of India such as Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) targeted at improving the performance of the Discoms in the country. Prepaid Smart Metering is also a very critical component of the programme. REC has also earlier spear headed many other important Government programmes such as Saubhagya, DDUGJY, UDAY, Late Payment Surcharge (LPS) Rules implementation, among many other such schemes.
In the year 2024 REC has also been designated as National Programme Implementation Agency (NPIA) under Rooftop Solar (RTS) Programme i.e. Pradhanmantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY).

To manage and drive these ambitious programs, REC seeks to appoint an experienced and dynamic IAS officer (Level 12 or above as per the 7th CPC) for the Executive Director position. The appointment will initially be for a tenure of three years, with preference given to candidates who have experience in the power sector.
Eligible officers are required to send their applications in the prescribed proforma along with Vigilance Clearance, Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (APARs) for the last five years, and a No Objection Certificate (NoC) from their respective Cadre Controlling Authorities. Applications must reach REC by 16th July 2025 and should be emailed to cmd@recl.in.
