Through the establishment of projects involving solar, wind, and hybrid energy systems with or without storage up to 20 GW or more in Madhya Pradesh, this Memorandum of Understanding aims to cooperate in the field of renewable energy.

At the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal on February 24, 2025, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on the development of Renewable Energy Parks and Projects and to support GOI's energy transition efforts.

The MoU was exchanged between NGEL and MPPGCL in the august presence of Dr. Mohan Yadav, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh; Sh. Gurdeep Singh, CMD(NTPC); Sh. Neeraj Mandloi (IAS), ACS (Energy), Govt. of MP; and other dignitaries from NTPC, NGEL, MPPGCL, and the Energy Department, Govt. of MP.

MPPGCL and NGEL shall jointly work for the formation of a Joint Venture Company (JVC) to meet the Renewable Generation Obligation (RGO) of the Madhya Pradesh Generating Company and the Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) of Madhya Pradesh DISCOMs.
