WAPCOS Partners with AT2ER for 25 MWp Solar Power Project in Togo

WAPCOS Limited and AT2ER sign an agreement to develop a 25 MWp solar power project with 36 MWh battery storage in Togo, funded by the World Bank. The project will expand rural electrification across 61 localities, boosting clean energy access.

WAPCOS Partners with AT2ER for 25 MWp Solar Power Project in Togo

New Delhi, August 2025. WAPCOS Limited, a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, has partnered with AT2ER (Agence Togolaise d’Electrification Rurale et des Énergies Renouvelables) to develop a 25 MWp Solar Power Plant with a 36 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Dapaong, Togo.

The project, funded by the World Bank, aims to improve rural electrification in 61 localities across the West African nation. Once completed, it will provide clean, reliable, and sustainable energy to underserved areas. This will significantly help Togo meet its renewable energy goals.

The agreement was signed between Shri M. Manoj Kumar, Chief Engineer at WAPCOS, and Dr. Tchapo A. Singo, Director General of AT2ER. This highlights WAPCOS’ growing international presence and expertise in renewable energy, especially in solar power and battery energy storage systems.
