New Delhi, 29 Dec 2025: The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh, has approved proposals worth Rs 79,000 crore to enhance the operational capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces. The AoN approvals, granted during the meeting held on 29 December 2025, cover critical procurements across the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Indian Army Procurements
Key approvals for the Indian Army include:

Loiter Munition System: Precision strike of tactical targets.

Low Level Light Weight Radars: Detection and tracking of small, low-flying unmanned aerial systems.

Long Range Guided Rocket Ammunition for Pinaka MRLS: Enhanced range and accuracy for high-value target engagement.

Integrated Drone Detection & Interdiction System Mk-II: Improved protection of critical assets in tactical and hinterland areas.
These procurements aim to strengthen battlefield precision, surveillance, and defensive capabilities.
Indian Navy Procurements
For the Navy, AoN was accorded for:

Bollard Pull (BP) Tugs: Facilitate berthing, unberthing, and maneuvering of ships and submarines in confined waters.

High Frequency Software Defined Radios (HF SDR) Manpack: Enable long-range secured communications during operations.

High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) – Lease: Continuous intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and maritime domain awareness across the Indian Ocean Region.
These acquisitions enhance maritime operational efficiency and situational awareness.
Indian Air Force Procurements
Key approvals for the Air Force include:

Automatic Take-off Landing Recording System: High-definition, all-weather recording of take-off and landing to improve aerospace safety.

Astra Mk-II Missiles: Extended range to neutralize adversary aircraft from standoff distances.

Full Mission Simulator for Tejas Light Combat Aircraft: Cost-effective and safe pilot training.

SPICE-1000 Long Range Guidance Kits: Strengthen precision strike capabilities.
These acquisitions bolster the Air Force’s operational reach, combat readiness, and training capabilities.
