New Delhi, 15 September 2025:  In a significant move to strengthen India’s startup ecosystem, Startup India, under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CarDekho Group, one of India’s leading autotech and finance solutions platforms. This collaboration aims to promote innovation and growth in mobility, fintech, insurtech, and emerging technology sectors.

The MoU was formalized in front of senior officials from both organizations. DPIIT’s Director Dr. Sumeet Jarangal and CarDekho’s Co-founder and CEO Amit Jain signed the agreement, highlighting the importance of teamwork between government initiatives and industry leaders.

Through this partnership, DPIIT-recognized startups will receive strategic mentorship, market access, technology infrastructure, and funding opportunities. Startups will gain access to CarDekho Group’s wide platforms, which include CarDekho, InsuranceDekho, rupyy, BikeDekho, ZigWheels, PowerDrift, Revv, CollegeDekho, and Crack-ED. This will create new opportunities for customer outreach and partnerships.

A main focus of the collaboration will be hosting innovation challenges as part of the Bharat Startup Grand Challenge. This will encourage entrepreneurial ventures in electric mobility, autotech, finance, and sustainability. The partnership will also create co-investment opportunities through the Girnar Vision Fund (GVF) and give startups access to CarDekho’s leadership network for specific guidance.

Speaking at the event, Shri Sanjiv, Joint Secretary at DPIIT, emphasized the connection between corporate expertise and startup innovation. He stated, “Connecting the experience of leading corporates with the innovation potential of Indian startups will unlock powerful solutions in mobility, finance, and sustainability. This partnership will create new opportunities for collaboration, capacity building, and market access across India.”

Amit Jain, Co-founder and CEO of CarDekho Group, shared this view. He said, “We are committed to co-creating with India’s most promising startups and driving innovations that impact millions. Partnering with DPIIT and connecting with the Startup India platform will allow us to mentor, fund, and support emerging entrepreneurs in mobility, fintech, and beyond.”

In addition to mentorship and funding, the partnership will also emphasize skill development initiatives aimed at improving entrepreneurial and technical abilities among startup founders and teams, fostering long-term growth and sustainability.

This strategic partnership between DPIIT and CarDekho Group represents a step forward in shaping India’s startup landscape by encouraging innovation, funding, and sharing expertise across critical sectors that are essential to the country’s economic and technological progress.
