Dr V Suguna appointed as Director Official Language in Railway Board
Dr. V. Suguna has been appointed Director (Official Language) in the Railway Board, Ministry of Railways. She is currently the Senior Manager (Rajbhasha) at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL).
Dr. Suguna has been associated with RINL since 1992, playing a crucial role in implementing the Official Language policy, translating key documents, and promoting Rajbhasha Hindi.
She has been the sub-editor of ‘Sugandh,’ RINL’s Hindi house magazine, since its inception in 2001. Under her editorial leadership, Sugandh has received the prestigious Rajbhasha Keerti Puraskar seven times in the last decade from the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs.

Her contributions extend to organizing national seminars and conferences and publishing special editions on Rajbhasha, management, the steel sector, and technical subjects. In recognition of her literary work, Dr. Suguna was honored with the Rajbhasha Gaurav Puraskar twice by the Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs.
She received the award from the then President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, in 2013 for her article on Baba Nagarjuna’s social consciousness and again in 2017 from President Ramnath Kovind for her work on the harmony between steel production and environmental conservation.
