Pawan Kumar Rai Selected as Director (Project Planning) at DFCCIL
New Delhi, Oct 25, 2025 — The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), under the Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India, has recommended Shri Pawan Kumar Rai for the post of Director (Project Planning) at Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), a Schedule ‘A’ CPSE under the Ministry of Railways.
The selection was made during PESB Meeting No. 101/2025 held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 9:00 AM.
A total of 11 senior executives from various public sector undertakings were interviewed for the prestigious role. The candidates included senior officials from DFCCIL, RITES, Engineers India Ltd, NHPC, NTPC, BHEL, and Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd.

After careful evaluation, Shri Pawan Kumar Rai, General Manager (Civil) at Northern Coalfields Limited, emerged as the top choice for the role.
As Director (Project Planning), Shri Rai will play a pivotal role in steering DFCCIL’s infrastructure expansion, including high-speed freight corridors critical to India’s logistics modernization.
His appointment is subject to further formalities and approval by the Competent Authority.
