PESB Recommends Abhishek Swami as MRVC's New Director (Finance)
PESB has recommended Shri Abhishek Swami, Executive Director (Finance & Law) at the Ministry of Railways, as the new Director (Finance) for MRVC.
Mumbai, October 31, 2025. The Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Limited (MRVC), a public sector company important for modernizing the Mumbai suburban railway network, is about to appoint a new financial leader.
The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) announced today that it recommends Shri Abhishek Swami for the important position of Director (Finance).
Shri Swami currently serves as Executive Director (Finance and Law) at the Ministry of Railways. He was selected from a group of seven highly qualified candidates from major public sector units. The candidates interviewed came from companies such as Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), NLC India, SAIL, and the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL).

Shri Swami’s financial expertise, especially in the railway sector, is expected to greatly benefit MRVC as it continues to carry out large infrastructure projects necessary for improving Mumbai's suburban rail traffic.
His recommendation will be sent for formal approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
