Railway Board Deputes IRSME Officer S. Sai Ramesh to Braithwaite & Co. Ltd
New Delhi, May 2026: The Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) has approved the deputation of S. Sai Ramesh, an Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) officer, to Braithwaite & Co. Ltd.. He will assume the role of Deputy General Manager at Raipur on standard deputation terms.
Deputation from South East Central Railway
Currently serving as DEnHM/BSP with the South East Central Railway, Bilaspur, the officer has been selected for a deputation tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The appointment will be on the usual terms of deputation, including parent pay plus deputation allowance, and is subject to the Government’s approval for exemption from the rule of immediate absorption applicable to Braithwaite & Co. Ltd.
Instructions for Relieving and Joining
The Railway Board has instructed the South East Central Railway administration to relieve the officer at the earliest so he can take up his new assignment. The date of relief is to be formally communicated to the Railway Board.
As per the guidelines of the Department of Personnel & Training (DoP&T), the officer will be deemed relieved upon completion of the deputation period unless a formal extension is approved in writing before the tenure expires.
Strengthening Leadership in Railway Engineering PSU
The deputation reflects continued coordination between Indian Railways and its associated public sector enterprises. Braithwaite & Co. Ltd., a key engineering and manufacturing PSU, is expected to benefit from the officer’s technical expertise and operational experience in mechanical engineering and railway infrastructure.
