NTPC WR-I HQ Organises Regional Joint Productivity Council Meeting at Mahabaleshwar
Mumbai, August 25, 2026: NTPC Western Region-I Headquarters, Mumbai, organised the Regional Joint Productivity Council (RJPC) Meeting 2026 at Mahabaleshwar on August 25, 2026, bringing together the management and representatives of Unions and Associations from across the Western Region-I.
The meeting was graced by Shri E. Satya Phani Kumar, Regional Executive Director (West-I), along with the Business Unit Heads of NTPC WR-I Projects/Stations at Mouda, Solapur, Anta, Jhanor-Gandhar and Kawas. Ms. Vandana Chaturvedi, Regional Head of HR (West-I), was also present, along with the Heads of HR of WR-I Projects/Stations at Mouda, Solapur, Anta, Jhanor-Gandhar, Kawas and RGPPL.
The meeting also witnessed the participation of representatives of various Unions and Associations from NTPC WR-I Projects/Stations, including Mouda, Solapur, Anta, Jhanor-Gandhar, Kawas and RGPPL. The Executive Director (DRC), along with the members of the Departmental Review Committee (DRC), was also present on the occasion.
A key highlight of the meeting was the presentations given by the representatives of the Unions and Associations on contemporary and significant themes relevant to the power sector. The discussions focused on:
- Flexibilization in Thermal Projects: Quick Response to Changing Grid Demand
- Strengthening Safety Culture through Behavioural Interventions
- Role of Artificial Intelligence in Enhancing the Efficiency of Power Plants
- Zero Demurrage in Coal-Based Plants and Future Sustainability of Gas-Based Plants
The deliberations provided a constructive platform for meaningful dialogue, exchange of ideas and collaborative discussions between the management and employee representatives, with a focus on enhancing productivity, operational excellence, safety and sustainability.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri E. Satya Phani Kumar, Regional Executive Director (West-I), said, “The RJPC is an important platform for strengthening mutual trust and fostering a culture of partnership between management and employees. On August 26, 2026, a special awareness session on Nuclear Power was also organised for the participants. The session was taken by Shri Nirbhay Gupta, Executive Director (Nuclear), and Shri A. P. Samal, Executive Director (Nuclear), who highlighted the prospects of nuclear power and created awareness about nuclear power plants and their role in India’s evolving energy landscape. The session provided valuable insights into the importance and potential of nuclear energy as a key component of the country’s future energy mix.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen constructive industrial relations and employee participation further, while collectively contributing to NTPC’s continued journey of excellence and leadership in the evolving energy landscape.
