Shipping Corporation of India Names Nitin Khamesra Director (Finance)

Mumbai, February 23, 2026: The Board of Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI) has appointed Shri Nitin Khamesra as Director (Finance), effective February 23, 2026, at 1630 hours.

The appointment follows Order No. 01/08/2025-EO(PE) dated January 31, 2026, issued by the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. The company informed the stock exchanges under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Shri Khamesra (DIN: 09595247) has officially assumed charge as Director (Finance) on the Board of SCI from the said date and time.

Capt. Som Raj Ceases Additional Charge

Consequent to the appointment of the regular incumbent, Capt. Som Raj, Director (Personnel & Administration), has ceased to hold the additional charge of Director (Finance) with effect from February 23, 2026, at 1630 hours.

Regulatory Compliance

SCI clarified in its disclosure that Shri Khamesra is not related to any Director of the company and is not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of any SEBI order or any other authority.

Professional Background of Nitin Khamesra

Shri Khamesra is a Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant, and a graduate in Computer Science, with over 28 years of experience in financial management, project evaluation and maritime logistics.

Prior to joining SCI, he served as Chief General Manager at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), where he held leadership roles across multiple Strategic Business Units including Shipping, Refineries, International Trade & Treasury Operations, and Management Accounts.

At IOCL, he served as Chartering & Finance Head (Shipping), supporting procurement of crude oil, LNG, LPG and petroleum products, and managing end-to-end seaborne logistics. He also served as Finance Head of Gujarat Refinery, overseeing finance, taxation and project functions.

He has represented IOCL at industry forums such as ICAI, FIPI and OMC platforms and served as Nominee Director on the Board of Vadodara Enviro Channel Limited (VECL), where he also chaired the Audit Committee.

Strategic and Governance Contributions

During his tenure, Shri Khamesra played a key role in:

  • Formulating shipping strategies and chartering policies

  • Introducing long-term time chartering models

  • Driving insurance and risk optimisation initiatives

  • Establishing a wholly owned subsidiary in GIFT City

  • Implementing SAP-based automation and financial control systems

A 4th Rank holder Chartered Accountant and recipient of the Maharana Kumbha Award and P. Sarkar Award of ICWAI, Shri Khamesra brings expertise in maritime economics, global shipping markets, energy trade and treasury operations.

His appointment is expected to strengthen financial stewardship and strategic oversight at SCI as the company advances its long-term maritime objectives.
