Shri Balasugumar Daniel Recommended for Director (Operations) at Cement Corporation of India

New Delhi – In a significant development for the public sector enterprise landscape, the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Shri Balasugumar Daniel for the pivotal post of Director (Operations) at Cement Corporation of India Limited (CCI). This key appointment was decided during a selection meeting held on Friday, August 8, 2025, in New Delhi.

Shri Balasugumar Daniel, who currently holds the position of Chief General Manager I/c (Works) at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), was the top choice from a field of nine qualified applicants. The candidates were interviewed for the leadership role in the Schedule B company, which operates under the Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India.

The PESB interview process saw a diverse pool of talent from various public sector undertakings. Other candidates vying for the Director (Operations) position included Shri Vivek Kumar from CCI, Shri Pradeep Rawat of Brahamputra Crackers & Polymer Limited, and Shri Binod Kumar Gupta, Executive Director (Mining), from Hindustan Copper Limited. Also interviewed were Shri Amit Kumar Verma from Sagarmala Finance Corporation Limited, Shri Puneet Agarwal of SAIL, and three officials from Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL): Dr. Enni Varaha Venkata Gopala Krishna, Shri Mamidi Prabhakar, and Shri Bishwanath Singh.

This recommendation marks a crucial step for Cement Corporation of India's operational future and highlights the ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership within India's public enterprises. The official minute from the PESB's 69th meeting of 2025 confirmed the selection of Shri Balasugumar Daniel for the senior management position.
