Sipan Kumar Garg Holds Director Finance Charge in three major PSUs
Sipan Kumar Garg's unprecedented triple-charge as Director (Finance) in three major PSUs: THDC, SJVN, and NHPC.
New Delhi: Shri Sipan Kumar Garg, who is currently serving as Director (Finance) in THDC India Limited, holds the additional charge in two other PSUs, namely SJVN Limited and NHPC Limited. This situation is highly unusual in any public sector undertaking to give the charges to one person in three different companies. Even though Sipan Kumar holds the additional charge in SJVN and NHPC.
The Power Ministry, in its August 29, 2025 order, has entrusted the additional charge of the post of Director (Finance), SJVN Limited, to Shri Sipan Kumar Garg w.e.f. September 01, 2025, for a period of three months or till a full-time incumbent is appointed or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Additionally, on the day September 01, 2025 Shri Sipan Kumar has taken over the additional charge of Director (Finance), NHPC Limited, India’s premier hydropower company and a Navratna PSU.
He is presently Director (Finance) of THDC India Limited and also serves as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP).

Sipan Kumar Garg Educational Background:
He is a distinguished finance professional, he is a B.Com (Hons.) graduate, a Chartered Accountant (CA), a Cost Accountant (CMA), a Company Secretary (CS – rank holder) and a Law Graduate (LL.B.).
Sipan Kumar Garg Professional Background:
With over 23 years of extensive experience in Finance, Accounts, Taxation, and Commercial aspects within the power sector, he brings a deep expertise to his role at SJVN Limited. His prior experience includes serving as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Aravali Power Company Private Limited and Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited, both Group Companies of NTPC Limited. He has also contributed to NTPC Limited in various capacities, including strategic roles in the Corporate Accounts Group and the Koldam Hydro Power Project.
Sipan Kumar Garg Achievements
In recognition of his visionary leadership, Shri Garg was honoured as the Visionary CFO of India at the National Economic Growth Summit 2024. He also received a Certificate of Appreciation from ICMAI for his dedicated contributions to the growth of THDCIL and for his efforts in advancing the CMA profession.
